Vytautas Kernagis - White Bird

The new double vinyl album "Baltas paukštis" is released 40 years after the first "Dainos teatras" programme in 1985. This is the sixth album on vinyl released by the Vytautas Kernagis Foundation.

The very uniqueness of the Song Theatre, which no one has ever repeated, was that in all the programmes each song was like a separate little play.

The album includes such songs as "I Call the Nation", five songs from S. Geda's poem "The Thrush", "The Ballad of Two Snails", and works that have been performed in the "Dainos teatras" programmes. The album ends with one of Vytautas Kernagis' best-known songs, "Baltas paukštis" (White Bird).

"We always try not only to release Vytautas Kernagis' songs, but also to give them a completely different, modern sound. Artūras Pugačiauskas, the best martering specialist in Lithuania, has again worked on the mastering of this album. As a result, the tracks sound deeper, as if they were in a special space. And every listener of this album will feel it", - Eglė Kernagytė-Dambrauskė, the daughter of the maestro, spoke about the unique sound of the album.

One of the founders and musical director of Dainos Teatras passed away last autumn, so the Vytautas Kernagis Foundation dedicates this album to the memory of the composer, songwriter, singer, and the unforgettable Maestro from the capital letter, Andrius Kulikauskas.
